Day 6 Dunoon to Ayr

We have had what we cyclists call a “recovery day” – just the mere 57 miles on the flat with a following wind (sometimes!). It was sunny and really beautiful on the Ayrshire coast. So no sympathy needed for me today! And my bike behaved impeccably, thanks to the cycle magician in Dunoon.

But I still mana‎ged to get lost! Somewhere near Troon I went the wrong way but fortunately for the Royal Troon members I didn’t take my bike on to their sacred greens. Nor did I cycle up the runway at Prestwick airport.

So, to finish with an old Scots saying: Ayr today, gone tomorrow.
